JULY 2011 DEVRIES VERWOLF WEDDING AT WINDMILL ISLAND
"The necklace and earrings looked perfect with the dress! Amy, you did such a fabulous job! I want you to know I truly loved it!"
summer bride, Rachel DeVries Verwolf
Rachel asked me to design her bridal jewelry and earrings for her bridesmaids. She had found bracelets for her girls, but was stuck finding something for herself that she really loved. Rachel and I worked closely together to design and create a look she had dreamed about but couldn't find in stores.

MAY 2010 VANDER WAL BEAUTIFUL ART BENEFIT
My sister, Melanie, teamed with Beautiful::Africa in 2009 to serve orphan children living at the Beautiful Gate in Lesotho. After spending time in Lesotho in August 2009, in May 2010, Melanie hosted an art benefit in Redlands, California where 22 original paintings were auctioned to raise funds to bless the children of Lesotho.
I was privileged to be commissioned to design a necklace for her to wear to the Beautiful Art Benefit. Melanie sent me a picture of the Anthropologie dress she had bought for the event. Melanie planned to wear a brown belt and shoes with the dress and preferred warm gold metal tones to be incorporated into the piece.
I began by sketching the dress, and 24 design options in black and white in compositions that would capture the eye while not distracting from the face or dress. From her top four design options, I designed the above five necklaces using digital images of gemstones, pearls and warm metals to complement the blend of bright spring colors and natural hues in the dress' fabric and overall look.
